Leadership

Our leadership team are the driving force for safety in our business. They are accountable for the safety of their teams and work with them to understand the risks, develop strategies to mitigate them and empower people to take the lead in their own safety and that of others. We’ve created a strong safety culture, embedded in all levels of our workforce.

Systems

Safety is about much more than legal compliance. We provide our employees with clear systems and tools to support the management of risks in all our operations. We’re continuously working to enhance our systems and processes for safe and efficient operations, developing them in consultation with the people on the ground working with them every day.

Learning

Our safety education and engagement programs are second to none. We provide our people with the knowledge and tools and create an environment where sharing learnings from incidents, near misses and positive performances are part of the everyday. Our comprehensive ongoing training is complemented by our annual SUEZ Safety Week, with employees across the nation coming together to celebrate safety, focus on key safety issues and recognise those who make a real contribution.

Certifications

We work hard to ensure that all our operations meet and exceed internationally recognised standards of quality, safety and environmental management. We operate under a nationally certified and independently verified Environment, Quality and Safety Management System, which includes ASNZS 4801 – Occupational Health and Safety Management, OHSAS 18001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems and ISO 9001 – Quality Management Systems.

Online Site Induction & Training

Safety is a key component of the way we do business, as well as a condition of employment. To ensure we continue to build a strong safety culture all our employees, agency staff and contractors must complete our National Safety and Environment Induction before commencing work.

The induction program has been developed to provide everyone with information that protects both themselves and the environment in which they are operating. Our online National Safety and Induction program is now available. Complete our online induction program.
