Recycling alternatives

What else can I do with my white goods?

  • Local council - many councils offer a collection service for white goods. Please contact your local council for further information.
  • Scrap metal dealers - many scrap metal dealers will also be happy to accept white goods, but make sure you check with the company first before delivering your items.
  • Fridge Buyback Program - If you live in metropolitan Sydney and have a working second fridge that is at least 10 years old and larger than 250 litres, you can participate in the Fridge Buyback program. By participating, you'll save energy, save money, AND you may even be eligible to receive a rebate of $35. The refrigerant gas in your fridge will be properly removed, the metals in it will be recycled, and you'll be reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as lowering your electricity bills.
